For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness. For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor. No good thing does he withhold  from those who walk uprightly. (ESV)

Lord, help us to always walk uprightly and to make our dwelling place with you. You light the way for us and you protect us because we belong to you. Amen

walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. (ESV)

Jesus, help us to always increase our knowledge of you so that everything we say and do is for the glory of your kingdom. Amen

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace and good will among men (ESV)

Jesus said: Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms…I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. (ESV)

God, thank you for giving us this life and for preparing a place for us in heaven where we will live with you for all eternity, Amen

It has seemed good to me to show the signs and wonders that the Most High God has done for me. How great are his signs, how mighty are his wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion endures from generation to generation. (ESV)

Lord we know you are able to do mighty things and we trust you to do what is best for us. Thank you for preparing a place for us in your everlasting kingdom.

See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. (ESV)

Father, you have adopted us and made us your children. We ask that you draw us into a deeper relationship with you, confident that we are loved and eager to bear your name well! Amen

so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. (ESV)

Lord, we need your Word every day. Thank you for the promise that your Word will accomplish all of its purposes. Help us to know and love you more, and cause your Word to be a light and lamp to our path.

How precious is your steadfast love, O God! The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings. They feast on the abundance of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your delights. For with you is the fountain of life; in your light do we see light. (ESV)

Lord thank you for keeping us in the protection of the shadow of your wings. You are the provider of all good things and we praise you and delight ourselves in the riches of your blessings. Amen

Jesus spoke to them, saying, I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. (ESV)

Lord, thank you for bringing your light into this dark world so that we can follow you and have the eternal life that you give. Amen

I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. (ESV)

Jesus, we do not seek satisfaction in the things of this world because we know that our contentment is found only in you. Thank you Lord for being our strength and enabling us to do all that you ask us to do. Amen

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High  will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. (ESV)

Thank you Lord for being our refuge and our shelter. May we always put our hope and our trust in you. Amen

Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?  She said to him, Yes, Lord, I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who is coming into the world. (ESV)

Jesus, Thank you for your work on the cross, your resurrection and this life that you have given us. Amen

Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations. (ESV)

Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. (ESV)

God, you have saved us and we will not fear because you are always with us. Amen

Jesus said: if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you (ESV)

Thank you Lord for your complete forgiveness and may we learn to forgive others as you do. Amen

He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? (ESV)

God, We thank you that your word tells us what you require of us. Help us to always walk with you in justice, kindness and humility. Amen

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. (ESV)

Everything we have Jesus, comes from you, and may everything we do be done for your glory and your kingdom. Amen

Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.  Show hospitality to one another without grumbling.  As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace (ESV)

Lord, help us to recognize the gifts and talents that you have given us and use them for your kingdom. Amen

I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times to things not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purposes, (ESV)

You are the only one, God who knows all things and there is no one like you. We pray that you would accomplish all of your purposes for our lives. Amen

Jesus said: For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. (ESV)

Father, we believe that Jesus is your son and we are so grateful for the life that you have given us now and forever. Amen
