My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you. Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man. (ESV)

Lord, we will keep your words close to our hearts and remember your teaching because you have shown us your favor and you have given us peace. Amen

There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. (ESV)

Jesus, help us to show your love to others so that fear will have no place in our hearts. Amen

See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone. (ESV)

Jesus, we will not seek revenge against anyone but only seek to do what is good and righteous in your sight. Amen

Therefore you shall keep his statutes and his commandments, which I command you today, that it may go well with you and with your children after you (ESV)

God, we will keep your commandments because we know that your favor will be with us and future generations to come. Amen

Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom. (ESV)

Jesus, give us wisdom and help us to always conduct ourselves in a way that is pleasing to you. Amen

Jesus said: whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. (ESV)

Lord, we pray that we will always live to serve others and to give our service as a gift to you. We thank you for your example of service and we will follow your lead. Amen

I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty. (ESV)

God, you have created all things and we praise you because your reign will never end. Amen

Be still, and know that I am God.  I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! (ESV)

God, you are the creator of everything and we can have peace because we know that one day, all nations will exalt your great name! Amen

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. (ESV)

Jesus, we know that if we conform to this world that we will be led astray from you. Help us to renew our minds and test us so that we can know your will for us. Amen

Jesus said: You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. (ESV)

Lord Jesus, may your light shine through us so that the world will know your glory! Amen

grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen. (ESV)

Lord, help us to show your grace to others and to grow in the knowledge of you, our Savior. Amen

I will sing of your strength; I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning. For you have been to me a fortress and a refuge in the day of my distress. O my Strength, I will sing praises to you, for you, O God, are my fortress, the God who shows me steadfast love. (ESV)

Lord, you are my refuge, my strength and my fortress. I will praise you because of your everlasting love. Amen

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. (NIV)

Lord, help us to do what you ask us to in your word so that we will truly know you. Amen

when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed.  Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. (ESV)

Lord Jesus, thank you for lifting the veil in front of our eyes so that we have the freedom that your Spirit brings. Amen

Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven (ESV)

Jesus, we thank you for this word that reminds us that we should not judge or condemn others but rather that we are to forgive as you have forgiven us. Amen

you will seek the Lord your God and you will find him, if you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul. (ESV)

God, today let us seek you with everything that we are and we know that you will be there for us. Amen

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing,  give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. (ESV)

Jesus, we rejoice because of all that you have done for us and may our lives be a continuous prayer of thanks to you. Amen

Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all.  If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. (ESV)

Lord help us to live lives that give honor to you and to always do what is right in your eyes. Amen

The Lord is my strength and my shield;  in him my heart trusts, and I am helped (ESV)

Lord thank you for being strong when I am not and for being my shield whenever I need protection. I will trust in you because you have always been and will always be my protector. Amen

Jesus said: Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. (ESV)

Jesus, we will not be afraid because our peace comes from you and we have the assurance that one day we will be with you forever. Amen
