Lord, you have given us this life and we will live for you. Amen

And God made the two great lights—the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night—and the stars.  And God set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. God, your light shines and the universe that you created reflects your majesty. Amen

With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be. (NIV)

Jesus, help us to always speak to others in a way that honors them and honors you. Amen

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age. (ESV)

Jesus, we need your strength to help us live this way and we thank you for giving us your grace. Amen

Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God. (ESV)

Jesus, our strength comes from you and we know that you will provide everything that we need. Amen
